HOPI EAR CANDLES
Hopi Ear Candles Nottingham
Hopi Ear Candles are very simple and effective treatment for problems with ears, sinuses, colds and throat. The treatment is relaxing.
Hopi Ear Candles are very useful for clients with the following-
- Cleaning out excessive or compacted wax in the ears
- Congestion and colds
- Diminishing chronic sinusitis
- Eliminating backed up mucus
- Enhancing hearing, or even taste and smell
- Noises in the ears, ringing, tinnitu
- Restoring equilibrium or pressure in the ear (eg for frequent flying, sports such as diving, etc
During a treatment the client lies on their side and relaxers as a lit Hopi candle is placed in their ear. When lit, the ear candles have a slight sucking action often referred to as the chimney principle, drawing any impurities to the surface where they can be gently removed. The rising air inside the ear sets up a vibration which gently massages the eardrum. This can help to regulate the pressures involved inside the ear. The flow of air within the ear candle creates a circulation of concentrated vapor. This is soothing, calming and protects the irritated areas. Most impurities or deposits are carried away through the candle "chimney", although some of them can be found in the lower section of the candle after removal from the ear, or some wax could even work its way up to the surface 24-48 hours after
A Hopi treatment is very safe and the client does not need to remove any clothing. It is difficult t predict the length of the treatment as candles burn down at different speeds depending on the individual but usually between 8-12 minutes per candle. I allow up to 45 minutes for a treatment including some time to rest after the treatment before getting up again.
I trained in Hopi Ear Candles at the Sue Ricks School of Complementary therapies and have been working with them for several years.
